Marcus L Seay

Marcus Seaywas born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on March 13, 1919 the son of the late Marcus Seay, Sr. and Beulah Irmella Stratton.On June 22, 1947 he was united in marriage to Lonell Smith who preceded him in death on December 11, 2002.Mr. Seay was an Army Veteran of WWII. He was a former manager of the City of Crump and a Hardin County Board of Education member. He had worked as a building contractor, farmer, and a former employee of Aqua Glass. He was a member of the Crump Methodist Church.Mr. Seay departed this life on October 5, 2007 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 6 Months, 22 Days.He is survived by his 2 daughters: Elizabeth Moore and husband Gary of Trenton, Tennessee and Anita Reed and husband Roger of Mufreesboro, Tennessee; 1 daughter-in-law: Sandy Seay of Harrison, Arkansas; 1 brother: Rev. Wallace Strawn of Fulton, Mississippi; 3 grandchildren: Meredith Thomas, Captain Eric Reed and wife Captain Ty Reed, and Daniel Seay.In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his son Marcus Dale Seay; 1 brother: Furman Seay; 1 sister: Agnes Gard; 1 grandson: Michael Seay.Services were held on October 8, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Chapel, Savannah, Tennessee, with Mary Foote officiating. Burial to follow in Crump Cemetery at Crump, Tennessee.
