MALLOY H. (POODLE) NEWMAN



was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on January 15, 1928 the son of the late Ocie Burl and Amye Gaston Ratliff Newman.



On May 15, 1954 he was united in marriage to Anita Lou Littlefield, who survives.



Mr. Newman was a United States Army and Air Force Veteran where he served in World War II and the Korean War. He worked for TVA for 20 plus years in the Diesel Mechanic Transportation department. Mr. Newman was also a self employed truck driver for Newman Trucking in Columbia, Tennessee and he also worked for Davis Brothers for 2 years. Mr. Newman was a member of Adamsville United Methodist Church and was a lifetime member of the V. F. W. He was a private pilot and enjoyed flying. Mr. Newman as an avid bird hunter and loved fishing. Mr. Newman was a former resident of Morris Chapel, Tennessee , Savannah, Tennessee , Columbia Tennessee and Adamsville, Tennessee.



He departed this life on December 27, 2011 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 12 days.



In addition to his wife, Anita of Adamsville, Tennessee, he is survived by one son, David Malloy Newman of Tuscumbia, Alabama



one daughter, Lou Ann Newman Mayo and husband Clayton F. of Jackson, Tennessee



3 grandchildren, Daniel Malloy Newman, Brooks Clayton Mayo and Banks Christian Mayo



3 sister-in-laws, Dorothy Newman of Adamsville, Tennessee, Ann Littlefield Handy of Adamsville, Tennessee and Margaret Littlefield Gardner and husband Arthur of Jackson, Tennessee



3 nephews, Gary Ronald Newman, Steve Handy and Roy Handy



one niece, Jena Bingham Cook



In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Burl Leon Newman, one sister in law, Martha Littlefield Bingham and 2 brother in laws, Don Handy and Gene Bingham.
