MAERENE WEATHERINGTON
Jacksboro, TN: Maerene Anderson Weatherington, age 98 passed away Saturday October 29, 2022, at LaFollette Court Assisted Living in LaFollette, Tn.
She was born and reared at Enville, TN, the daughter of the late Dorsey Benton and Hallie Ann Ross Anderson. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1943 and married L.C. Weatherington. They made their home in Milledgeville and Enville.
She worked in the garment industry as a supervisor at Salant and Salant, Chester Manufacturing and at Saltillo.
They owned and operated a café in Milledgeville and a general store in Enville.
Mr. Weatherington passed away in 1990.
She made her home in Enville until 2002 when she moved to Jacksboro to be near her daughter and grand daughter Tabbitha.
She was a member of the Methodist Church in Enville.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Frank Pierce (Ron) of Jacksboro, TN; two grandchildren, Michael Frank (Kelli) of Enville,TN and Tabbitha Frank West (Danny) of LaFollette, TN; and two great grandchildren, Ford Frank and Campbell Grisham.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dorsey and Hallie Anderson and husband L.C. and numerous Brother and Sister In Laws.
She was still very active and even attended her great grandson Ford's baseball game last year in Jackson, Tn. She had made friends with several of the residents at LaFollette Court and the Aides all called her the spunky, sassy, feisty Little Mae.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Freeman, Danny Johnson, Ronnie Hill, Brandon Hill, Harold Findley and Great Grandson Campbell Grisham, Honorary Pall Bearer will be Great Grandson Ford Frank.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday November 3, 2022, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Dr. Jim King and Bro. Gene Hannah officiating. Burial will follow at Milledgeville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time Thursday.
