Henderson: Mabel Claire Stanfill Perkins, age 93, died March 17, 2008 at Jackson Madison County Hospital.She was born and reared in Chester County near Henderson, the daughter of the late William Floyd and Margaret (Maggie) Bray Stanfill. She attended school in Henderson and graduated Chester County High School in 1932 and graduated Freed-Hardeman College in 1934. She later attended Memphis State and West TN Business College. She began working at Milan Arsenal for a short time during WWII and in 1944 and was married to Otis Lionell Perkins and they made their home in Henderson after Mr. Perkins was discharged from the Army after serving in WWII in European Theater of Operations. She worked for the Chester County Board of Education as secretary to the Superintendent of Chester County Schools, a position she held for many years, until she retired. She was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ, Tennessee Retired Teachers and the DAR.She was preceded in death by her husband Lionell Perkins 1975 and a son Robert Stanfill Perkins in 1990, a sister, Mary Stanfill and a brother, Harmon Stanfill.
