Lynn Pierce

June 17, 1950 — December 31, 2007

Martha Lynn Stockard Pierce, age 57, died Monday December 31st at Jackson General Hospital.



Mrs. Pierce was born in Knoxville, TN the daughter of John Gentry Stockard, Jr. and Martha Lynn Ely Stockard. She graduated from Science Hill High School in Johnson City, TN and in 1971 was married to Billy Joe Pierce. They made their home in the Henderson area all their married life. She worked at American Olean Tile in Jackson for several years. She later worked with the Mother’s Day Out Program at First Methodist Church in Henderson. She worked as a teacher’s assistant at West Chester Elementary School and currently as an assistant at East Chester Elementary School in Chester County.



She was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class at First Baptist Church in Henderson and was involved in many activities of the church.



Lynn was very unselfish and was a Christian servant in the community, the church, her work, and her home. She enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Mark and Paige’s first child.



She is survived by her husband Billy Joe Pierce, two daughters; Polly Pierce Robison and husband Phillip of Jackson and Paige Ellen Jordan and husband Mark of Jackson, two grandchildren Reese Lynn and Garrett Lee Robison. She is also survived by her parents; Martha Lynn Stockard of Jackson and John Gentry Stockard, Jr. of Tampa, FL and two sisters Lark Taylor and Laura Wooten both of Jackson.



Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at First Baptist Church with Bro. Stan Smith and Bro. Thomas Robinson officiating and burial will follow in the New Friendship Cemetery in Chester County.
