Lynn "Skippy" Galloway, a man whose kindness and unwavering spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of him, passed away peacefully at his home in Saulsbury, Tennessee, on November 12, 2024. He was born on February 25, 1937, in Saulsbury, and embodied the essence of rural life, dedicating many years to the fields as a farmer, and before his retirement, he showcased his talents as a carpenter.
Skippy was not just a man of labor; he was a deeply loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His love for his family was profound and evident, especially for his beloved wife, Shirley "Ann" Galloway, who stood beside him through life's journey since their marriage on September 20, 1958. He leaves behind three devoted sons, Brad Galloway and Tina of Middleton, Greg Galloway and Tonya of Pulaski, and Kelly Galloway and Tina of Kansas, whose lives he enriched with his wisdom and humor. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Cheryl Heffner and Gail Seever. He is also survived by a sister, Diana Burnette and Jeff of Saulsbury. Skippy's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Brandon Ross, Alex Seever, Jessica, Dannie, Madalyn, Cash, Laurissa, and Logan Galloway, and extends further to his cherished great-grandchildren, Edison Ross, Brooklyn Tarena, Brianna Seever, Bridget Seever, Keagan Seever, Teagan Turner, Jaxx Turner, Aden Lovell, Audi Colburn, Gracelyn Galloway, Scarlett Galloway, and Sam Galloway. Each one held a special place in his heart, as he taught them the values of love, faith, and perseverance. Skippy was predeceased by his parents, Vance Galloway and Virginia Perry Foote Galloway, and his brother Richard Galloway. Their memories, like all those of his family and friends, were woven into the fabric of his life, creating a tapestry rich with love and shared experiences.
He was not only devoted to his family but also to his faith and community, having served eight years in the National Guard. Active in the West Memorial Baptist Church, where he was a cherished member, Skippy found joy in teaching Bible classes and discipling young men, imparting lessons of faith and service. His warm personality and love for people drew many into his circle, creating bonds that lasted a lifetime.
