Luther Leon Carter, Jr., 60, of Middleton, died Tuesday evening, October 3, 2006 at Bolivar General Hospital.
Born October 31, 1945, in Madison County, son of the late Luther Leon Carter, Sr. and Mamie Glover Carter, he was a delivery truck driver for Lance Snack Foods. He lived in Little Rock, Arkansas before making his home in Bolivar, enjoyed watching sports and attended Central Baptist Church.
Services were 1 pm Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with Ray Lovelady officiating. Burial was in Perry Cemetery near Somerville.
Survivors include his fiancée, Mary L. Lipford of Middleton and a host of cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis A. Carter.
