Lurie Ayers Gibson was born January 17, 1929 in Wayne County, Tennessee the daughter of Flora Sherrills Reaves and the late Dewey Reaves.
Mrs. Gibson was a Homemaker. She was attended the Kendrick Baptist Church in Corinth, Mississippi.
Mrs. Gibson departed this life on September 30, 2008 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 79 Years, 8 Months, 13 Days. She is survived by two daughters, Joann Howling and husband Jacob of Ypsilanti, MI, Linda Lou Woodruff and husband Woody of Corinth, MS; two sons, Charles Henry Ayers and wife Rita of Stockbridge, MI and Jody Ayers of Selmer, TN; mother, Flora Reaves of Savannah, TN; three sisters, Sue Willard and husband Elvin of Henderson, TN, Maudie Harris and husband Larry of Adamsville, TN, Jean Cates of Adamsville, TN; five brothers, James Reaves and wife Joyce of Collinwood, TN, Luther Reaves and wife Ruth of Florence, AL, Jim Reaves and wife Edwina of Selmer, TN, Cliff Reaves and wife Linda of Adamsville, TN, Clifton Reaves and wife Linda of Henderson, TN; eleven grandchildren, Cora Sue Howling, Sally Marie Howling, Joanne Howling, Brenda Ann Howling, Charles Henry Ayers, Laura Jean Castelberry, Lestlie Ann West and husband Ray, Chasity Williams and husband Brandon, Chris Woodruff and wife Danielle, Brandon Woodruff and wife Holly,Nancy Carlson and husband Eddie; eleven great grandchildren, Joseph David Charles Ayers, Faith Marie Ayers, Camron West, Rita Alanso, Haley Grace Williams, Magalyn Genece Williams, Landon Matthew Williams, Christopher Aidan Woodruff, Connor Wayne Woodruff, Eddie Carlson and Lacy Carlson; and sister-in-law, Vicky Reaves.
In addition to her father, Mrs Gibson was preceded in death by her first husband, Auther Ayers and her second husband Carl Gibson, a daughter, Cora Sue Howling; a sister, Hazel Smith; a brother, Arlie Reaves; granddaughter, Hope Ann Ayers; great granddaughter, Allie Elise Woodruff; a son-in-law, Junior Howling; a daughter-in-law, Wilma Ayers.
