Lula Marie Griggs

Lula Marie Griggs was born February 8, 1937 in Waynesboro, TN the daughter of the late John Fred and Bertha Mae Lawrence Martin. She was united in marriage to Laverne Griggs on March 12, 1955. Mrs. Griggs was a retired dietary worker at Wayne Care in Waynesboro, TN. She was a member of the Eastview Baptist Church in Waynesboro, TN and a dedicated Sunday School teacher for children throughout her husband's ministry as a pastor to many churches. Mrs. Griggs departed this life on October 9, 2022 in Waynesboro, TN at her home at the age of 85 years, 8 months, and 1 day.

She is survived by a son, Timothy Charles Griggs and wife Marcie; a daughter, Deborah Ann Griggs Scoggin and husband John; a brother, Leonard Martin and wife Margaret, all of Waynesboro, TN; seven grandchildren, Cami Bracewell, Justin Cole Griggs, Carrie Hayes, Heather Malugen, Candace Shanes, Tyler Butler, and Brittany Littleton; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great granchild.

In addition to her parents, Mrs Griggs was preceded in death by two brothers, James Lloyd Martin, Charles David Martin; and a sister, Freddie Mae Walker.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN.

Funeral services will be held on October 12, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors at Waynesboro in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Rocky Hayes, Dusty Malugen, and David Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the McGee Cemetery at Waynesboro, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
