LUCY GALBRAITH MARTIN
Enville, TN: Lucy Elizabeth Galbraith Martin, age 94 passed away January 24, 2013 at the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born and reared in the Center Point Community of Chester County, the daughter of the late Walter Bunyon Galbraith, a former post master at Lula, TN and Cora Alice Carroll Galbraith. She attended school at Center Point, Milledgeville and graduated Chester County High School in 1937. She was married to Lynn Martin in 1940 and they lived in the house where she lived since a child. Mr. Martin farmed and in 1962 they opened and operated a General Store where she served as post master for a few years. Mr. Martin then opened the Center point General Store from 1962 until 1980. Mr. Martin passed away in 2003. She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. Mrs. Martin is the last of seven children.
Mrs. Martin is survived by a son, Larry Gene Martin and wife Shirley of Enville; three grandchildren, Larry Van Bailey of Enville, Lorie Gann and husband David of Henderson and Lee Bailey and wife Andrea of Pinson and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Martin in 2003 and a daughter, Lynda Bailey in 2005.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday January 27, 2013 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Randy Hart officiating with burial to follow in Roby Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Saturday.
