JONES, Lucy Jordan of Decatur, GA died June 7, 2009. She was born in Hawkinsville, GA, May 27, 1923, and was the daughter of George and Marion Jordan. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Edward Leroy Jones. A graduate of Georgia State College for Women, she was employed by Westinghouse Electric Corporation until retirement after 41 years of service. She was an active and long time member of Druid Hills Presbyterian Church. A children's Sunday school teacher for many years, she also sang in the choir. Later, she was a charter member of the McNair Sunday School Class, serving as president. She is survived by nephews George W. Jordan,III and wife Beth of Henderson, TN and Edward Perry Jordan and wife Pam of Greensboro, NC, great nephews Philip Wayne Jordan and wife Jeania and sons Hunter and Tanner of Henderson, TN, James Edward Jordan and daughter Halle of Henderson, TN, Mark Callaway Jordan and wife Paige and son Pierce of Jackson, TN, Allen Joseph Jordan of Henderson, TN, Kevin Jordan of Greensboro, NC, and great niece Kim Jordan of Greensboro, NC.
The body was cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at Druid Hills Presbyterian Church at 2 o'clock on Saturday, June 13, 2009 with Rev. Mary Jane Cornell, Jane Fahey and Rev. Cader Howard officiating. The family will receive friends in the Church Parlor an hour before the service. Honorary Escorts will be present and former members of the McNair Sunday School Class.
