Lucille M. Shelby
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on March 10, 1918 the daughter of the late Cecil and Dicie Williams.
Ms. Shelby was a homemaker and spent most of her life in the Blount community and the past 13 years in Tucson, Arizona. She was a very independent and plain spoken person. She was always pushing forward, learning how to drive at the age of 55 years old. She enjoyed her children and needle work. Ms. Shelby was a faithful member of Blount's Methodist Church and Graham United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Home Demonstration Club and RSVP Member Senior Citizens. In addition to Hardin County, Tennessee and Tucson, Arizona, Ms. Shelby had also lived in O'Fallon, Illinois and Germantown, Tennessee.
Ms. Shelby peacefully departed this life at St. Joseph Hospital in Tucson, Arizona on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at the age of 90 years, 10 months, 19 days.
Ms. Shelby is survived by her beloved daughter, Betty Shelby of Tucson, Arizona; several nieces, nephews, and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Shelby was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Shelby; 3 brothers, Russell, Fred, and Howard Williams.
