Lucille Parsons

Mrs. Lucille S. Parsons, age 99 of Grand Junction, Tennessee, passed from this life Monday morning, April 20, 2009 at NHC Healthcare in Somerville.She was born August 21, 1909 in Grand Junction, Tennessee to the late James Edward and Virdna Ray Snellings. A lifelong resident of Grand Junction, she was the widow of James Powe (J. R.) Parsons, who preceded her in death in 1942. She was a retired school teacher after working for 42 years for the Fayette and Hardeman County School Systems. She was a member of the Grand Junction United Methodist Church as well as the United Methodist Women.She is survived by a son, James D. Parsons of Oakland, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Kimberly Prudhomme of Oakland, Tennessee, Angela Rye of McEwen, Tennessee, Tracy Motter of Springfield, Illinois, Dana Griffin of Memphis, Tennessee and Sheila Parsons of McEwen, Tennessee; one great granddaughter; two great grandsons; and one step great grandson. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ray M. Parsons and three sisters, Polly Dunn, Mary Wilmot and Laurine Loller.
