Lucille Foster

June 3, 1935 — November 7, 2012

Lucille Foster was born June 3, 1935 in Hornsby, TN the daughter of the late Arie Gentry Knight and Paddy Cox Knight.



She was united in marriage in Corinth, MS to David Foster on October 25, 1954. They began their life of almost 40 years together in San Diego, CA where David was stationed in the Navy. After his duty was served they moved to Memphis. They lived there for several years and their girls were born. Lucille worked at a lot of places in Memphis including Cleo Wrap, Paper Specialty, and RCA, just to name a few. In 1970 they moved back here. Of course, Lucille being the worker she was, worked several places here including the shoe factory, Amira Corporation in Bolivar, Grinnell Corporation, and Henco. Mr. Foster preceded her in death on June 26, 1994.



Lucille loved sitting with the elderly in her retirement years. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and loved aggravating Bro. Mike. She enjoyed growing flowers, baking sweets, and doing word search puzzles. She was very faithful to visit friends and family in the nursing home. Lucille will be missed by a host of family and friends because of her outgoing spirit and contagious laughter.



She departed this life on November 7, 2012 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 77 Years, 5 Months, 4 Days.



She is survived by two daughters, Betty Gail Garrison and husband Buster of Hornsby, TN, Linda Dale Burch and husband Ronnie of Marion, AR; a sister, Nancy West of Selmer, TN; five grandchildren, Shawn Garrison, Keith Garrison, Ashley Henslee, Mitch Burch, Makayla Burch; five great grandchildren, Kalee Vatalore, Hadley Garrison, Kenzlee Burch, Jonah Garrison, Maddie Grace Garrison. A host of extended family and friends.



In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by two brothers, James Arlie Knight, Eugene Knight.
