Lucille Smith Bedwell
was born on March 26, 1913 in Chester County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Lee and Rosa Handy Smith.
In 1931, she was united in marriage to James Hurshall Bedwell, who preceded her in death in 1961. In 1985, she was united in marriage to Glenn George, who preceded her in death in 1989.
Mrs. Bedwell worked as a nurse’s aide at Hardin County General Hospital for 11 ½ years and later as a private duty nurse for 5 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She departed this life on October 28, 2005 at Savannah Healthcare at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 2 days.
Mrs. Bedwell is survived by a son, Paul Bedwell of Counce, Tennessee; 2 daughters: Virginia Hanna and Sherry Cromwell, both of Savannah, Tennessee; 3 grandchildren: Susan Simmons of Bartlett, Tennessee, Michelle Harpole of Savannah, Tennessee and Dean Cromwell of Louisville, Kentucky; and 4 great-grandchildren: Amanda Simmons of Bartlett, Michael and Jessica Harpole of Savannah, and Chloe Cromwell of Louisville, Kentucky.
She was also preceded in death by 3 sisters and 5 brothers.
