Louis G. "L.G." Stewart, 75, of Middleton, died Monday evening,
April 11,2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville.
The widower of Harriet Mae Stewart, who died July 8, 2001 after
47 years of marriage, he retired as a machine operator with Wedco
Technology in Grand Junction. Mr. Stewart was born January 17,
1930 in Ashlal,ld"Miss., son of the late William Henry Stewart and
Bessie Irene Lovett Stewart and lived in Litchfield, Illinois for
many years before making his home in Hardeman County in 1979.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Litchfield and Grace
Baptist Church at Middleton.
Services were 3 PM Thursday, April 14 at Shackelford Funeral
Directors Bolivar chapel with Vince McCalip officiating. Burial
was in NewHope Cemetery in Benton County, Miss.
Survivors include two daughters, Micky Stewart of Jackson and
Renee Stewart of Middleton; three sons, Roger and Joe Stewart,
both of Saulsbury and Donnie Stewart of Byhalia, Miss.; two
sisters, Edna Martin of Ripley, Miss. and Sudie Weller of
Litchfield, III.; five grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and two
great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in
death by daughter, Becky Stewart; one sister, Mamie Stewart and a
half-brother, Rufus King.
