Louis Vernon Miles

Louis Vernon Miles was born July 19, 1931 in Lauderdale Co., Alabama, the son of the late William Reubin and Hester Lee McFall Miles. He was united in marriage to Bassell Jean Williams on August 19, 1949.Mr. Miles departed this life on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at his home in Toney, AL at the age of 77 years, 3 months, 6 days.He was a retired machinist and a member of the Madison Church of Christ in Madison, Alabama.In addition to his parents, Mr. Miles was preceded in death by a son, Steve Oneal Miles; four brothers, Leonard Miles, Roy Miles, Dalton Miles, Willard Miles; and a sister, Myrtle Beard. He is survived by his wife, Bassell Jean Miles ; daughter, Marla Hulsey and husband, Joe William; grandchildren, Heath William Hulsey, Brandy Leigh Hulsey, all of Toney, AL; sister, Rosie Miles, Florence, AL; and several nieces and nephews.Services will be Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 1 pm at Pine Hill Church of Christ ,Florence, Alabama, with Mike Winkler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. His body will be placed in the church one hour before the services.Visitation will be Monday, October 27, 2008 from 6 pm to 9 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home in Collinwood, TN.
