Louie Albert Winters departed this life on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at the age of 85 years, 7 months, and 21 days. He was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi on January 9, 1931, the son of the late Herman and Rosie Lee Smith Winters. On January 9, 2002, he was united in marriage to Ruby Faye Freeman, who survives.
In addition to Clarksdale, Mississippi, Louie had lived in Boyd, Texas for 50 years and Hardin County, Tennessee for 35 years, where he was a member of the Bruton Branch Baptist Church. He was a self-employed contractor, specializing in painting, carpentry, and plumbing. He enjoyed playing musical instruments, loved the Lord and working at church.
Louie is survived by his wife, Ruby Faye Freeman Winters of Counce, Tennessee; children, Sheena Sharp and husband, Ruben Narezo of Azle, Texas, Debra Groesbeck and husband, Charles of Boyd, Texas, Huie Winters and wife, Susan of Bridgeport, Texas, Dewey Winters and Louie Winters both of Fort Worth, Texas; step children, Wayne Beck and wife, Lisa of Counce, Tennessee, Joyce Park and husband, Kenneth of Iuka, Mississippi; brother, Gayland Winters and wife, Helen of Azle, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Viola Winters; sister, Ruthie Earley; brothers, Mutt Winters and Bill Winters.
