Louie O. Clinton, 95, of Memphis, formerly of Bolivar, died Friday morning, July 7, 2006 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Jackson.
The widower of Estelle Thompson Clinton, who died February 15, 1997, he was owner and operator of Clinton Dry Cleaners for 25 years. Mr. Clinton was born March 24, 1911 in Bolivar, son of the late Robert Dewitt Clinton and Cecilia Russell Clinton and lived in Bolivar and in Memphis most of his life. He was a member of McLean Baptist Church in Memphis.
Graveside services were 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2006 at Rainey Cemetery near Toone with David Cooper and Lando Lee officiating.
He is survived by one daughter, Judy Mayer of Jackson; two sons, Joseph T. Clinton of Bartlett and Louie “Butch†Clinton of Sebastian, Fla.; two grandsons, Chris Mayer of Henderson and Matt Mayer of Jackson and four great grandchildren, Hannah, Luke, Bailey and Madison Mayer. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Carolyn Clinton; one sister, Nolene Killingsworth and one brother, Jack Clinton.
