Lou Venia Cardwell Teague of Chewalla, TN was born on June 29, 1921 to Edgar Eugene Cardwell and Susie Arizona Sweat Cardwell. She was united in marriage to William Cecil Teague on December 7, 1938. Mr. Teague preceded her in death on August 19, 2002. She was a homemaker and retired storekeeper having owned with her husband Teague's Grocery in Chewalla. She also served as a substitute postmaster for the U. S. Post Office in Chewalla and was a Pink Lady with the Magnolia Hospital Ladies' Auxiliary. Mrs. Teague was one of the oldest members of Chewalla Baptist Church and was named a Church Treasure. She served as a Sunday School teacher and VBS worker. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved to cook and care for her family.
Mrs. Teague departed this life on Sunday, April 25, 2010 in Corinth, MS at the age of 88 years.
Survivors are her son, Benny Harold Teague and his wife Brylene of Ramer, TN; 3 grandchildren, Delise Teague, Emily Crabb and husband Terry, Bart Teague and wife Audra; 7 great-grandchildren, Hannah Gillentine Sims and husband Brandon, Jordan Gillentine, Jacob Prather, Mary Beth Prather, Brady Teague, Avery Teague, and Callie Teague; 2 great-great grandchildren, Carter Sims and Hayley Sims.
Other than her parents and husband, Mrs. Teague was also preceded in death by her siblings, Callie Anthem Cardwell Morrow, Nola Claude Cardwell Price, Jeff Vestel "Ban" Cardwell, Clinton Eugene "Gene" Cardwell, and two infant children.
