Lou Jane Matlock Essary departed this life on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, 19 days.
She was born in McNairy County, Tennessee on January 3, 1936, the daughter of the late Reeder and Floy Lee Jones Matlock. On April 10, 1953, Lou Jane was united in marriage to Webb Essary, who survives. She had worked for Garan Manufacturing, Brown Shoe Company for 13 years, and Owens Corning for 9 years. Lou Jane loved going to ballgames and working in her yard. She had a big heart and took care of everybody. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Lou Jane is survived by her husband of 59 years, Webb Essary of Savannah, Tennessee; son, Freddy Essary and wife Susie of Savannah, Tennessee; daughter, Freeda Eaves of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Link Eaves and wife Amanda of Horn Lake, Mississippi, Jason Eaves of Counce, Tennessee, Jeremy Eaves of Savannah, Tennessee, Mary Ann Essary of Savannah, Tennessee and Leah Essary of Memphis, Tennessee; great grandchildren, Traven and Shalanna Churchwell both of Savannah, Tennessee; sisters, Martha Rinks and husband Pete of Crump, Tennessee, Oma Jean Ratliff and husband Brownie of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; brothers, Jerry Wayne Matlock of Selmer, Tennessee and Charles Ray Matlock of Milledgeville, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lovie Dedrick; brothers, R.C., E.G., J.D., and Carl Joe Matlock.
