Lorene Maxey Morris

Lorene Maxey Morris was born in Ponotoc County, Mississippi on August 17, 1925, the daughter of the late James C. and Emma Bingham Maxey. On April 25, 1947, she was united in marriage to Everett Carroll Morris, who preceded her in death on April 14, 2003. Lorene departed this life on May 16, 2019, at the age of 93 years, 8 months, and 29 days.

Lorene attended Poplar Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Iuka, Mississippi. In her lifetime, she worked as the manager of the Pickwick Inn Gift Shop for 13 years and as a housewife upon retirement. Lorene is remembered as an excellent quilter, basketball and softball player, and arts and crafts person. She would call again, again, and again if someone needed a friend.

Lorene is survived by her sons, Tony Morris of St. Pete Beach, Florida and T.C. Morris and wife Lynette of Barstowe, California; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and spouse, Lorene was preceded in death by one sister and nine brothers.
