LONNIE DUWAYNE POPE
Henderson, TN: Lonnie DuWayne Pope age 84 passed away December 27, 2018 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Tulsa, OK and reared in Jackson, TN the son of the late Rosa Belle Jones Pope and Lonnie James Pope. He graduated from Jackson High School in Madison County in 1952. Lonnie joined the U.S. Air Force in 1955. He married Jo Ann Thomas of Henderson in 1956. The family lived in many different places like in Greenland and in Thailand during the Vietnam War. Mr. Pope retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1981 after 26 years of service. The family moved to Chester County after his retirement. Mrs. Jo Ann passed away in 2015. He was a collector of coins and many other things. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren. Mr. Pope was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Henderson.

He is survived by two sons; Daniel Pope and wife Dianna of Knoxville, TN and John Pope and wife Lisa of Frisco, TX and a daughter Kay Parker and husband Art of Wheatland, WY. and four grandchildren; Morgan, Garrett, Ryan and Connor Pope.

Graveside Services with military honors will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 05, 2019 at the Trinity Church Cemetery.

Shackelford Funeral Director of Henderson will be in charge of arrangements.
