Lonnie Gene Overton

Lonnie Gene Overton of Linden, TN was born November 10, 1950 in Wayne County, TN the son of the late John McKinley and Mary Elizabeth Davis Overton. Mr. Overton departed this life on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Perry Community Hospital in Linden, Tennessee at the age of 65 Years, 11 Months, 4 Days. He formerly worked at Lincoln Brass in Waynesboro and was a Pentecostal. He was married to Betty Blankenship on August 2, 1969.

He is survived by his wife Betty Overton, a daughter, Vicky Abels and husband Tommy, four grandchildren, Kim Abels, Tracy Abels, Daniel Abels, Joesph Abels, and a great grandchild, Stella Bates all of Linden, TN, four sisters, Reba Pulley and husband James of Clifton, TN, Elvie Choate and husband Larry of Ridgly, TN, Glenda Frazze and husband Edgar of Michie, TN, and Frances Hutson of Waynesboro, TN;

Services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 1:00 PM at First Pentecostal Church in Clifton, Tennessee with Billy Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Balcum Cemetery near Waynesboro with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home and 10:00 AM until service time at First Pentecostal Church in Clifton. Pallbearers are Jeremy Smith, Chris Burns, Nick Moyers, Matthew Davis, James Pulley, and Jason Pulley.
