Henderson, TN: Lona Mae Sells King, age 89 passed away December 5, 2010 at her home.
She was born and reared in the Friendship Community of Madison County, the daughter of the late John Kent and Lula Mae Holder Sells. She went to school at Pinson and was married to Johnny King in 1945. They moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1959. She worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in housekeeping. They moved to Chester County in 1969. They made their home in the New Friendship community where they operated stores at Hill Top and Five Points until 1975. Mrs. King also did factory work in Jackson and retired in 1978.
She was a member of the New Friendship Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Mike King and wife Peggy of Henderson; two brothers, Bobby Glen Sells and wife Doris and John David Sells and wife JoAnn all of Henderson; two grandchildren, Kim Clayton and husband Stan and Michelle Ray and husband Billy; five great grandchildren, Nathan Clayton, Jonathan Ray, Natalie Clayton, Tyler Ray and Jada King.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny King in 1975; a grandson, Jason King; a brother, Cleo Sells and two sisters, Lucille Bain and Delena Bain.
