Ms. Lola Dee (Young) Williams, passed from this life on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the age of 88 years, 6 months, and 13 days.
A life-long resident of Hardeman County, Mrs. Williams was born August 29, 1926 to the late Bedford David and Alvie Mathis Young. She was married to J. C. Williams on August 29, 1946 who passed March 4, 1994. She was a retired seamstress for Master Slack, enjoyed sewing and was well known throughout the county for making alterations for people. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, and cooking; going to gospel singings and loved to attend church and her family. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Judy Thompson and her husband Richard of New Port Richey, FL; Peggy and Cathy Williams both of Memphis; and Becky West and her husband Sammy of Jackson, TN; 3 grandchildren, Bobby Wright, Rich Thompson, and Chloe West; 3 great-grandsons, Lance, Ethan and Bo Wright, and 1 great great-granddaughter, Zoe Wright. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Eugene, R. E., and D. M. Young; and by 4 sisters, Mayena Newland, Jewell Lamberth, Lorena Franklin, and Maxilee Jones.
The family requests that memorials be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project of the charity of their choice.
