LOIS SMITH
Reagan, TN: Lois Jean Essary Smith, age 86, passed away Tuesday July 9, 2019 at her home.
She was born September 2, 1932 at Enville, the daughter of the late James Dexter and Millie Adams Essary. She attended school at Cash School House and married Cecil Paul Smith in 1947. They made their home in Memphis and she worked at Ellis Bagwell Drug Company. They moved to Reagan in 1980 and she worked at Decaturville Sportswear for a few years. She later retired and enjoyed working in her garden. She loved fishing, cooking, canning and gardening. She was a member of the Center Point Holiness Church.
Ms. Smith is survived by three sons, Paul Smith (Alice) of Reagan, Randy Smith of Enville and Roger Smith of Reagan; seven grandchildren, Rhonda Crowe, Stephanie Willis, Jonathan Smith, Shannon Smith Hare, Justin Smith, Hunter Smith and Nick Smith; six great grandchildren; Haley Elliott, Aaron Elliott, Cameron Crowe, Sam Willis, McKinna Nowell and Alayna Smith; two brothers, Doc Essary of Luray and Bear Essary of Savannah and two sisters, Margie Essary of Memphis and Jupy Knauff of Memphis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Cecil Paul Smith on September 6, 2007; four brothers, Carlos Essary, Alvie Essary, Maxell Essary and James Essary and two sisters, Faye Bishop and Sue Clark.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Darren Martin and Bobby Rushing officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday.
