Lois Faye Ayers Melson, 67, Phoenix, AZ, left us surrounded in the love and care of her family at home on October 15, 2005. Faye was born on December 3, 1937 in Lutts, TN. She attended Pinhook Elementary School and Collinwood High School. She moved with her family to Phoenix, AZ in 1970. She was a graduate of Phoenix College and Arizona State University in nursing. Faye was a nurse for 36 years and retired in 2004. She enjoyed quilts and antiques, collecting recipes and cooking. Her passion was one of love, hope, and caring for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie S. and Madgie Horton Ayers and her husband, Charles Melson. Left to cherish her memory and live by her example are her five children: Debbie (Drew) Thompson, Florence, AL; Cindi (Ray) Lengacher, Montgomery, IN; David Melson, Franklin, TN; Charlotte (Frank) Minardo, Phoenix, AZ; and Patrick (Kathi) Melson, Phoenix, AZ. Faye was also blessed with 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her loving siblings and their families: Ralph (Maxine) Ayers, Ethridge, TN; Lesbie Howell, Waynesboro, TN; Lorene (Willie) Pigg, Collinwood, TN; Hazel (Leon) Casteel, Collinwood, TN; Ross (Judy) Ayers, Columbia, TN; and Susie Long, Waynesboro, TN.
Her love and friendship will be missed by all who knew her. Although she is not physically with us anymore, she is forever in our hearts. Join us in celebrating her life and her journey to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
