Lois Wamble Garner

Henderson, TN: Lois Wamble Garner, age 95, departed this life on April 20, 2019 at the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center Henderson, Tennessee at the age of 95 Years, 2 Months, 14 Days.

She was born and reared in the Old Friendship Community of Chester County, TN the daughter of the late Joseph Lee and Lessie Jane Morton Wamble. She attended school at Chester County, graduated in 1944 where she played on the high school basketball team.

She was united in marriage to Robert Wilburn "Will" Garner in 1948. Mr. Garner preceded her in death on January 15, 2011. They made their home in the Old Friendship Community where they farmed. She worked at Salant & Salant for 12 years and Honey's Fabrics for several years. She and Mr. Will were well known for raising and selling watermelons and peas. She was a member of the Estes Church of Christ.

She is survived by a son, Guy Garner and wife Sherry of Pickwick Dam, TN; a daughter, Sheila Fesmire and husband Larry of Newbern, TN; three grandchildren, Casey Garner, Kevin Garner, Camille Fesmire Dozier; and four great grandchildren; Price Dozier, Reed Dozier, Alyssa Garner and Bryson Moore; and a brother, Horace Wamble of Jackson.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by five brothers, Thurman Wamble, Raymond Wamble, Robert Lee Wamble, James Wamble, Carson Riley; three sisters, Alene Maness, Vera Little, and Dorothy Cox; and a grandson, T.J. Fesmire.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson – Crook Avenue Chapel with Roy Sharp, Billy Smith, and B.J. Naylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Chester County Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Shackelford Crook Avenue Chapel.
