Lois Geneva Covington

Funeral services for Lois Geneva Covington, age 85, of Iron City, TN will be Eleven a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Shackelford Chapel in Collinwood with Junior Burns and Sonny Bogus officiating. Interment will follow in Balentine Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of arrangements.



Visitation will be Wednesday, August 22, 2007 from 6:00-9:00 pm and Thursday, August 23, 2007 from 9:00 am until service time at Shackelford Funeral Home in Collinwood.



Mrs. Covington, a native of Wayne County, died Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at Wayne County Nursing Home in Waynesboro. She was a daughter of the late J.C. Hinton and Susan Ellen Bevis Hinton. Also, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Newman Covington; grandson; Jason Risner; brother, Chester Bevis; and sisters, Mildred Bevis and Floy Wright; and step children, Howard Covington and Jenny Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of the church of Christ.



She is survived by sons, Leo Littrell and Elmo Littrell both of Iron City, TN and Phillip Covington of Florence, AL; daughters, Deborah Sue Favors of Rogersville, AL, Connie Brannon of Wayneboro, TN, Jo Ann White of Russellville, AL, Frances K. Creasy of Iron City, TN, and Sonya Kelley of Florence, AL; 22 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and 6 step great grandchildren; brothers, Clifton Hinton of Florence, AL and Lell Hinton of Lutts, TN; and a sister, Metria Holt of Cypress Inn, TN
