Lois Blackwelderwas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on July 6, 1923 the daughter of the late Grady and Erma Cagle Shelby.On October 25, 1939 she was united in marriage to Bert Smith Blackwelder, who preceded her in death on September 22, 2005.Mrs. Blackwelder was a life long resident of Hardin County. She was employed with Brown Shoe for 12 years and Horner Florist for several years. She was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church. She was known as a loving individual, very creative with flowers, and decorating her home. She loved and enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Mrs. Blackwelder departed this life January 10, 2008 at the age of 84 years, 6 months, 4 days.She is survived by a son: Larry Blackwelder and his wife Elouise of Savannah, Tennessee; daughter-in-law: Mary Ann Blackwelder of Savannah, Tennessee; 3 sisters: Erma Jean Clement of Moline, Illinois, Margaret Rickman of Adamsville, Tennessee, Mildred Love of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 grandchildren: Amy Garrison and Dale Blackwelder; 2 great-grandchildren: Karley Blackwelder and Audrey Blackwelder.In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son: Jerry Blackwelder; a sister: Betty Jo Brown; 2 brothers: Guy Shelby and J.C. Shelby.
