Lodema J. Stanfield

Lodema J. (Peggy) Moore Stanfield was born November 2, 1924 in Texas the daughter of the late George Benjamin (Dink) and Erma Armstrong Moore. She was united in marriage to James C. (Bip) Stanfield on October 28, 1942. Mrs. Stanfield was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Hardeman and McNairy County School Systems for 37 years. "Ms. Peggy" was a dedicated educator who was a positive influence in the lives of the many children who passed through her classroom. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and later earned a Bachelor of Arts from Memphis State University. Mrs. Stanfield was a long-time member of the Ramer Baptist Church, a devoted wife, a proud and beloved mother and grandmother and a very special sister and aunt.



Mrs. Stanfield departed this life on November 16, 2005 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 81 Years, 14 Days. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James C. (Bip) Stanfield of Ramer, TN; two sons: Roger Stanfield and wife Rebecca of Jackson, TN and Jarrell Stanfield and wife Teresa of Eastview, TN; three grandchildren: Tyler Stanfield of Eastview, Elizabeth Stanfield of Jackson and Sarah Stanfield of Eastview; two step-grandchildren: David Altfeld of Alpharretta, GA and Leah Altfeld of Memphis; a sister, Linda Poindexter of Bethel Springs, TN; five nieces: Neta Bryant and husband Donnie of Olive Branch, MS, Shari and Sandra Moore, both of Memphis, Shelia Williams of Marion, AR and Debra Marlett and husband Carl of Allegany, NY; two nephews: Butch Ray and wife Marain of Eastview and Buster Benton and wife Cindy of Marion, AR; a special cousin, Barbara Peppers and husband Carl of Glendale, TX; a brother-in-law, Raymond Benton of Marion, AR; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.



In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stanfield was preceded in death by a son, James Alvin Stanfield; a nephew, Jimmy Moore; two sisters: Mary C. Ray and Emma Lee Benton; and two brothers: J. B. and Junior Moore.
