Lloyd E. Phillips
was born in Olive Hill, Tennessee on June 17, 1928 the son of the late Gilbert W. and Audrey Gladys Beckham Phillips.
On May 29, 1950 he was united in marriage to the former Shirley Janette Cromwell, who survives.
Mr. Phillips was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked as a self-employed insurance salesman for Life of Georgia Insurance. He had also worked at a grocery store for Bill Riddell and as a manager of a dry cleaner. Mr. Phillips was of Baptist belief.
He departed this life on August 25, 2006 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 8 days.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Jane Cromwell Phillips of Savannah;
a daughter, Jan Paige Phillips Morton of Savannah;
2 grandchildren: Chad Phillip Cagle and Corey Stephen Cagle;
and 3 sisters: Winell Miller and Gilberta McCasland, both of Savannah,
and Lorene Lawhorne of Collierville, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Gaye Phillips; one brother, Billy G. Phillips and one sister, Bernita Phillips.
