Linda Scott

Linda Kay Scott was born on December 14, 1941 in Finger, TN in the Sweetlips Community the daughter of the late Lyman Lee and Edna Omega Keen McCormick. She departed this life on January 27, 2024 in Adamsville, TN in the comfort of her home at the age of 82 years, 1 Month, and 13 Days.

Linda graduated from the Adamsville High School, class of 1959. She played basketball, and was a member of the Pep Club, Glee Club, FHA, and the Library Club.


On January 16, 1960, she was united in marriage to William Jerry Scott who survives the love of his life. 

Linda started working in 1959 at Garan Manufacturing in Adamsville, TN and remained there for approximately 10 years. She then went on to the food business at Coleman's BBQ as a manager in Selmer, Savannah, Adamsville and Lexington for many years. She also worked at The Little Diner, Captains, Piggly Wiggly, and Briggs Tobacco in Savannah. She was a member of Adamsville Freewill Baptist church.

Linda was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and a wonderful friend to many. She loved her family dearly and supported them in every endeavor. Her greatest joy in life was taking care of her two grandsons - they were her pride and joy. 

She continued to commit her life to her family with an unconditional love and compassion that never waivered. She also enjoyed planting flowers, cross stitching, sewing, and especially loved family vacations to the beach. 

Linda is survived by her dedicated husband of 64 years, William Jerry Scott of Adamsville, TN; her best friend and faithful daughter, Pamela A. Scott of Adamsville, TN; her son, Jerry Lynn Scott and wife Crystal of Adamsville, TN; two grandsons, Tristan R. Scott and Ashton L. Scott both of Adamsville, TN; three sisters, Ava Nixon and husband Virgil, Patricia Dickerson, Shelia Smith and husband Mike all of Adamsville, TN; two brothers, Jerald McCormick and wife Donna of Houston, TX, Mike McCormick of Adamsville, TN; and a host of special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her a sister, Betty Sue Hughes; two brothers, Leon McCormick and Larry McCormick.

The family would like to thank Legacy Hospice and especially our nurse Brenda Mast for her kindness, compassion and love.
