Linda Gale Anderson Nichols departed this life on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at the age of 71 years, 4 months, and 24 days. She was born in Sevier County, Tennessee on May 4, 1948, the daughter of the late Frank and Lois Rogers Anderson. On January 24, 1981, she was united in marriage to Kent Nichols, who survives.
Linda had lived in Selmer, Tennessee, Savannah, Tennessee, and Chicago, Illinois. She loved to quilt, paint, draw, and cook. Linda was a mom to all.
In addition to her husband, Kent Nichols of Savannah, Tennessee, Linda is survived by her son, Steve Simpson and his wife Anne of Marshville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Thomas McMillin, Cody Tyler Simpson, Heaven Simpson, Jasmine Simpson, Christopher Simpson, Emily Simpson, Jessica Nichols, and Kent Nichols; and great grandchildren, Elijah Joyner, Tyler McMillin, Makiah McMillin, Bella McMillin, and Rosie Benites.
Along with her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a son, James "JR" Simpson; a stepdaughter, Julie Nichols; and a grandson, Matthew Simpson.
