Linda C. Brown

October 30, 1940 — August 18, 2024

Saulsbury, Tennessee

Linda C. Brown, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, departed this life on August 18, 2024, leaving behind a legacy imbued with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on October 30, 1940, in Hardeman County, Tennessee, Linda illuminated the lives of those around her with her warmth and vivacity.

Throughout her career, Linda exemplified dedication and resilience. She worked fervently as a sales lady in retail sales with Wal-Mart, where she earned the respect and admiration of both colleagues and customers alike, retiring in 1996. Her professional journey also included a significant period as a beautician, worked at Harman Automotive until it closed, and a brief but impactful year with Kelloggs. Yet, it was in her personal life that she truly flourished; a nurturing spirit, she dedicated herself to her family and community.

A lifelong member of West Memorial Baptist Church, Linda's devotion to her church family was steadfast. She served selflessly as the nursery director, imparted knowledge through teaching Sunday School, and brought joy to congregants with her piano performances. Linda's faith was not merely a belief but a guiding light that shaped her interactions and the way she engaged with the world.

In her leisure, Linda found joy in a myriad of pursuits. She relished the simple pleasures of traveling, reading, nurturing her garden with vibrant flowers, and creating beautiful crocheted items. However, her greatest joy came from being immersed in the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who adored her boundless love and affection.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Bobby Clifton Brown, whom she married on June 15, 1956; her three daughters, Regina Parrish and Glenn of Canton, GA, Cindy Bubulka and Michael of Glenwood, AR, and Carol Sumners and Barry of Murfreesboro. The warmth and support of her family are further complemented by her grandchildren: Ginger Thomassiny and Bernardo, Tricia Smith and Kyle, Josh Boyett and Amber, Jon Boyett and Casey, Meghan Harvey and Kyle, Logan Bubulka, Katy Sumners, and Emily Tuipulotu and Ikaika and 20 great grandchildren.  Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Marilyn Phillips Hammers.

Linda was predeceased by her loving parents, Charles Elmo Cossar and Wilma Inez Galloway Cossar, along with her siblings, Phillip Cossar and Laura Ann Cossar, who will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved them.

As we remember "Nana", we celebrate a life characterized by unwavering love and a spirit that enriched all who knew her. May her memory continue to inspire and comfort us in the days to come.  Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to the West Memorial Cemetery Fund or Hardeman Adoptable Animals (www.hardemanadoptableanimals.org)
