Lila Martin Whitehead

Lila Lee Martin Whitehead of Iron City, TN was born August 1, 1937 in Wayne Co., TN, the daughter of the late Coleman and Eula Martin. Mrs. Whitehead was a former CNA and dietician at Wayne County Nursing Home and was a member of the Fairview Church of Christ, Iron City, Tennessee. She enjoyed working in her home and travelling.

Mrs. Whitehead departed this life, Monday, October 17, 2016 at Waynesboro Health and Rehab, Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 79 Years, 2 Months, 16 Days.

She is survived by sisters, Nell Bevis, Lucille Keeton and Frankie Morgan all of Waynesboro, TN, Iva McNutt of Chattanooga, TN and Jean Littrell of Iron City, TN and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Whitehead, a son, Tommy Whitehead; daughters, Lisa and Tanzie Whitehead and a sister, Lois Watkins.

Services will be Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Sonny Bogus officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Bobby Bevis, Rex Bevis, Bart Littrell, Brent Littrell, Sheldon Morgan and Kelby Ray.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 9 am to service time at the funeral home.
