LEWIS ‘LOUEY’ WILKINS, JR.

 Henderson, TN: Lewis Homer Wilkins, Jr. age 84 passed away May 13, 2024, at Southern Oaks Assisted Living.

He was born January 27, 1940, in Chester County, the son of the late Lewis Homer Wilkins, Sr. and Opal Roma Tidwell Wilkins. He grew up in Enville and was a 1959 graduate of Chester County High School.

He worked at Owens Corning in Jackson for the last twenty years plus of his working career, retiring about forty years ago. He took care of his mother for several years. He enjoyed and was very good at playing pool. He also enjoyed visiting friends for breakfast at Brenda’s Kitchen.

He loved spending time with his family and loved his nieces and nephews, like they were his own children.

He was a Baptist in belief.

Mr. Wilkins is survived by a brother, Jerry Wilkins (Patsy) of Finger; four sisters, Bobbie Thurmond of Jacksonville, FL, Joyce Hoskins of San Antonio, TX; Peggy Wilkins of Memphis and Cathy Walker (Joe) of Selmer, numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 18^th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Bro. Scott Dunaway and Bro. Shane Connor officiating. Burial will follow at Center Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at East Main Chapel 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday.
