Lewis Earl Brown was born in Wayne County, Tennessee on November 19, 1937. He departed this life on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 23 days.
Lewis is survived by his wife of 60 years Betty Brown; two daughters, Janice Baugus (Scottie) and Sharon Byrd (Michael); four grandchildren, Michael Alan Byrd (Kassidy), Brian Baugus (Jenny), Crystal Rico (Ed), and Matthew Baugus; eight great grandchildren, Myleigh, Sofee, Charlee, and Beau Byrd, Olivia and Owen Baugus, and Malachi and Avah Rico; three sisters, Joyce Clements (William), Linda West, and Joan Brown; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and one uncle Daniel White.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Brown and Susie West; three brothers, Joe Brown, William Larry Brown, and Kenneth Wayne Brown; and two sisters, Eula Merl Branham and Judy Yule.
Lewis was a member of the Walnut Grove Church of Christ for more than 20 years. He loved socializing with the church family.
Lewis began his career as a brick mason in Chicago, Illinois in the 1950's, continued in Ypsilanti, Michigan in the 1960's and 70's until he moved to Savannah, Tennessee. He worked as a brick layer in Hardin County and Wayne County and the surrounding areas until he retired in the early 2000's.
Lewis raised beagle dogs and was a member of the Wayne County Beagle Club for many years. He loved running his dogs, rabbit hunting and going to field trials and bench shows. Lewis owned horses and mules and participated in wagon rides for years as a member of the Southern Wayne County Wagon Club.
Through out his life, Lewis had gardens and raised chickens, ducks, turkeys, dogs, and horses. He rode his four wheeler around his farm, caring for his animals and maintaining his fish pond as long as he was able.
Lewis' greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
