LESTER E. LYNCH
was born in Wayne County, Tennessee on September 26, 1931 the son of the late Hardy and Mazy Clay Lynch.
On July 3, 1954 he was united in marriage to Beatrice McReynolds, who survives.
Mr. Lynch was a retired parts manager of 42 years for Memphis Brake Service. He was a United States Army Veteran which he served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. During this time he won the Purple Heart for being wounded in action as well as receiving six battle stars and Korean Service Medal. Mr. Lynch was a member of Riverview Baptist Church, Savannah Masonic Lodge #102, Normal Masonic Lodge #722, Eastern Star #371 of Savannah, Tennessee, Scottish Rite and 32nd degree member of Al Chymia Shrine in Memphis, Tennessee. He lived in Wayne County, Shelby County for 42 years and lived in Hardin County for 13 years. Mr. Lynch enjoyed fishing, doing church work, and he was an expert tree climber. He was a member of the Hospital Staff transporting children to the Shrine Hospitals for many years and did paper drive for the Shriners and was Tomato and Candy Man for Shriners Hospitals. Mr. Lynch collected aluminum can tops for hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He took many friends and loved ones to different places.
He departed this life on April 16, 2010 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 78 years, 6 months and 21 days.
In addition to his wife, Beatrice of 55 years of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by one daughter, Pamela East and her husband Dale of Dallas, Texas and one son, Steven Lynch and his wife Kelly of Chapel Hill, Tennessee
4 grandchildren, Amy East, Jared East, Connor Lynch and Kathleen Lynch
3 sisters, Katherine Brewer, Virginia Whitten and Geneva Ray, all of Waynesboro, Tennessee
and a host of nieces and nephews
Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by 6 brothers, Roy, Clyde, Edward, Paul, Rex and Walter Lynch and one sister, Carye Moore.
