Mr. Cruse died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on September 2. He was a retired hot metal tender with LTV Steel where he had worked for 30 years. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and lived in Indiana for thiry years prior to moving back here in 1985. He loved to farm and plant trees and was a Baptist in belief. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Cruse of Pocahontas; a daughter, Debbie Daugherty of Mt. Home, Ark.; two sons, Leonard and Steven Cruse, both of Pocahontas; a sister, Louise Wilbanks of Eastview; five brothers, Leon and Bill Cruse, both of Pocahontas, Buddy Cruse of Hammond, Ind., Buster Cruse of Highland, Ind. and James Cruse of Moscow; five grandchildren, Jennifer Werner, Wendy Cruse, Kevin, Brian and Stephanie Daugherty; and two great grandchildren, Justin and Jenna Werner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Carlie Ann Smith Cruse.
