Lesbie Sherrill Ayers

Lesbie Sherrill Ayers departed this life on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 8 Months, 24 Days. She was born October 2, 1929 in Lutts, TN, the daughter of the late Joseph Thomas and Mary Viola Banks Sherrill.

She was united in marriage to Herman Alvin Ayers on April 1, 1950 and he preceded her in death on Decemter 21, 2009.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ayers was preceded in death by two sons, Larry and J.H. Ayers; brothers, Carvel, Joel and Thomas Jr. Sherrill; a sister, Sue Dixon.

Mrs. Lesbie was a retired factory worker and is survived by a son, Jerry Ayers and wife, Stephanie of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Shelena Ayers , Kelsey Ayers, Jerdie Ayers, Bronson (Kandee) Ayers; a great grandchild, Corbin Ayers; daugther in law, Judy Ayers; sisters, Dean Mitchell of Montgomery, AL and Faye McCurry Holt of Iron City, TN.

Services will be Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June, 28, 2016 from 6:00-9:00 pm and Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 11:00 am until service time at Shackelford Funeral Home, Collinwood,TN.
