Mr. Webster died Saturday evening at Baptist Hospital - Collierville.
He was the son of the late Homer and Annie LoElla Hammons Webster. A native of and having lived most of his life in Hardeman County, Mr. Webster also lived in Memphis for 10 years. He was a member of the Rogers Springs Church of Christ and had served Middleton as a member of the City Council. He coached Little League baseball for over 20 years and was a member of the Middleton Lions Club. He was retired as owner of Hardeman Auto Sales in Bolivar and had also worked as a Hardeman County Sheriff's Deputy and was Chief of Police in Middleton for over 20 yaars.
He leaves his wife, Gala Webster of Middleton; two daughters, Debbie Whitehead and her husband, Robert of Walls, MS and Millie Duke and her husband, Randy of Middleton; one son, Phil Webster and his wife, Jan of Middleton; six sisters, Juanita Rhodes of Los Angeles, CA, Annie Ballard of Middleton, Daphna Burnett of Bolivar, Mary Elizabeth Thornton of Middleton, Margie Lee Wheaton of Oklahoma City, OK and Lucille Shelby of Grand Junction; five grandchildren, Mandy, Melissa, Kristin, Phillip and Casey; four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jaxson, Lance and Jacoby.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Clara Galloway; three brothers, Tate, Alvah and Edmond Webster; and an infant brother and sister.
