LEON ROWLAND
Woodville, TN: Leon Wren Rowland age 77 passed away Tuesday morning, February 23, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born December 30, 1938 in the Woodville Community of Chester County, the son of the late Marvin Lee and Lila Jo Henson Rowland. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1958 and entered the U.S. Navy in October of 1958. He served on the USS Randolph, an aircraft carrier out of Norfork, Virginia. He made his home in Memphis and worked at Firestone as a tire builder until they closed. He moved to the Woodville community and worked at Western Mental Health until he retired.
He married Beverly Rose in 2010. He loved to fish and garden. He was a member of the Woodville Baptist Church.
Mr. Rowland is survived by his wife, Beverley Ann Rose Rowland of Woodville, two sons, Steve Rowland of Murfreesboro and Mark Rowland of Jacks Creek; a daughter, Stephanie Rapp of Eads and a sister, Dianne Clark and two brothers, Joe Earl Rowland and Eddie Rowland all of Woodville.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday, February 26, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Bro. Roger Hatch officiating. Burial will follow in Woodville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 5 PM on Thursday.
