Leon L. Rice
was born in Sardis, Tennessee on October 13, 1924 the son of the late James Ether and Grace Phillips Rice.
Mr. Rice was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
In June of 1948, he was united in marriage to the former Frances Hannah, who survives.
Mr. Rice retired from his job as the manager of plant maintenance for the U.S. Postal Service in Memphis and had also worked in real estate. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.
He departed this life on October 4, 2006 at the Methodist Germantown Hospital in Germantown, Tennessee at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 21 days.
Mr. Rice is survived by his wife, Frances Rice of Memphis, Tennessee;
2 sons: Glenn Rice of Cordova, Tennessee and Larry Rice of Germantown, Tennessee;
4 grandchildren and one brother, James Ether Rice, Jr. of Huntsville, Alabama.
