Leon King

Leon King was born December 7, 1954 in Selmer, TN, the son of the late James Clifford King and Icie Louise Gibson King. He departed this life on August 28, 2023 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 68 Years, 8 Months, 21 Days.

Leon was a dedicated employee for ITT in Selmer, TN for over three decades, starting from 1974 until the unfortunate closure of the company in 2007. He enjoyed watching Gun Smoke and nothing brought him more joy than spending quality time with his family.

He is survived by two sons, Clint King and wife Sarah of Savannah, TN, Justin King of Selmer, TN; a sister, Kay Weeks and husband Steve of Selmer, TN; five grandchildren: Landan Petty, Aiden King, Lyla Coffman-Hart, Gilbert King, Samuel King; niece, Kristie Barnes and husband Jack of Woodville, TN; nephew, Jason Weeks and wife Rae of Corinth, MS; and several cousins. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 4:30-8 pm and on Friday from 9 am until services at 11 am all held at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, Tennessee, with Richie Horner and Jeff Crosswhite officiating. Burial will follow in the Hunter Cemetery at Selmer, Tennessee.
