Leon Franklin
was born in Shamrock, Texas on November 29, 1934 the son of the late Elza and Effie Lee White Franklin.
On November 11, 1956 he was united in marriage to Reba Ruth Franks, who preceded her husband in death on September 25, 2002.
Leon served his country proudly in the United State Navy. After the military he worked in the Janitorial profession. Leon was a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. He has been living in Hardin County since 1988. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, gun collecting, and keeping his truck cleaned up.
He departed this life on Friday, March 26, 2021 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 26 days.
Leon is survived by his children, Roberta Winkler of Savannah, Tennessee, Rebecca Franklin of Savannah, Tennessee, Brenda Sullivan of Nashville, Tennessee, and James Franklin and his wife Tonya of Savannah, Tennessee; son-in-law, Mike Sullivan of Nashville, Tennessee; Christopher Franklin and his wife Beverly, a grandson whom he thought of as a son; eight grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne Leon Franklin and Thomas Leon Franklin.
