Lena Opal Baker

Mrs. Baker died Friday morning, January 23 at Henry Ford Hospital in Wyandotte, Michigan.



The widow of Elmer Dean Baker, who died on May 31, 1982, after 37 years of marriage, she was a homemaker. She was born in Searles to Julius Herbert Nixon and Lillie M. Sanders Nixon, both of whom preceded her in death and lived in Middleton from 1981-92 at which time she moved to Michigan.



Survivors include two daughters, Norma Jean Hatfield of Glendale, Ariz. and Sandra Darlene Baker of Dearborn Heights, Mich.; three sons, William Dean Baker of Oakland Township, Mich., Roger Dwayne Baker of Dearborn Heights, Mich., and Larry Wade Baker of Toney, Ala.; 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jimmie Dale Baker in 2006 and an infant son.
