Lee Daniel "Dan" Eaker

Lee Daniel "Dan" Eaker was born August 23, 1926 in McNairy County, TN, the son of the late Willie Eaker and Beatrice Tate Eaker. He departed this life on April 19, 2023 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 96 Years, 7 Months, 27 Days.

Dan was united in marriage to Ruthie Mae Killingsworth on January 8, 1947. Mrs. Eaker preceded him in death on February 1, 2009.

He was a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church in Lawton. He was also a Mason and served in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked for Brown Shoe Company and later worked for the Boot and Shoe Workers Union. Dan also was one of the first managers of the McNairy County Airport. 

He had a passion for flying, having crop dusting adventures as more of a hobby. He enjoyed dancing, camping, going to Florida and Gatlinburg, farming and selling his goods at the farmer's market. He was a loving father, brother and grandfather. Dan was always there for his family when they needed him.

He is survived by two daughters, Cathy Robinson of Lawton, TN, Danita Sims and husband Anthony of Stantonville, TN; a sister, Charlene Briley and husband Billy of Savannah, TN; five grandchildren: Angie Redditt and husband James, Crystal McLain Poulsen, Michael Hugh Robinson, Ashley Poole and husband George, Cassie Matlock; seven great grandchildren: Chelsea Plunkett and husband Michael, David Tucker Hill, Dylan Hill, Nicki Sappington and husband Billy, Trace Poole, Luci Mae Poole, Conner Matlock; five great great grandchildren: Chloe Plunkett, Hayden Plunkett, Nevaeh Sappington, Jake Sappington, RJ Sappington.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Eaker was preceded in death by  a daughter, Peggy Sue McLain; two brothers, John William Eaker, Leonard Irvin Eaker; two son-in-laws, Bobby Robinson and Kenneth McLain.
