Lawrence Pettigrew was born December 12, 1918 in Gilchrist, Tennessee the son of the late Grover Laudon and Maggie Paulene Ward Pettigrew.
He was united in marriage to Nola Alene Chambers on December 23, 1937.
Mr. Pettigrew was a professional trader, farmer, and member of the Mt. Sharon Presbyterian Church. He loved his grandchildren, grandson-in-laws, horses, coon hunting and his coon dogs, and spending time with his friends.
Mr. Pettigrew departed this life on December 23, 2006 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 88 Years, 11 Days. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Nola Pettigrew of Adamsville, TN; one son, Joe David Pettigrew and wife Dorothy Jean of Adamsville, Tennessee; two sisters, Ruby Kathlene Hendrix of Jackson, Tennessee, and Alice Marie Bolton of Selmer, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Mitzi Jane Mitchell of Selmer, Tennessee, Marty Joe Pettigrew of Memphis, Tennessee, Jeffrey David Pettigrew of Adamsville, Tennessee, and Leigh Duchess Pettigrew Evans of Lawton, Tennessee; eleven great grandchildren, Sasha Jill Keen of Selmer, Tennessee, Steven Blake Mitchell of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, Madison David Pettigrew of Memphis, Tennessee, Morgan Stanfield Pettigrew of Memphis, Tennessee, Jeffrey Cole Pettigrew of Adamsville, Tennessee, Dalton Wyatt Pettigrew of Adamsville, Tennessee, Garrett Clay Pettigrew of Adamsville, Tennessee, Preston Lee Pettigrew of Adamsville, Tennessee, Jason Jarod (JJ) Pettigrew of Adamsville, Tennessee, Tanya Montana Rose Pettigrew of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, and Megan Renee Evans of Lawton, Tennessee; five great great grandchildren, Lauren McKenzi Lee Smith of Selmer, Tennessee, Halle Kate Keen of Selmer, Tennessee, Luke Chandler Keen of Selmer, Tennessee, Brayden Trace Mitchell of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, Kallee Robin Pettigrew of Adamsville, Tennessee; host of nieces and nephews.
